My name is Alex Holcomb, and I am a content marketing writer. I’m a marketing communication specialist for TenHats, the largest locally-owned IT firm in Knoxville, TN.
I’ve breathed digital marketing for longer than I’ve known that’s what I was doing. The power that social media, good writing, and images on a screen took a hold of me at a young age. My first website came out when I was 12 years old, filled with embedded links to my favorite YouTube videos that I’d probably be ashamed to rewatch.
In high school, I decided I wanted to be Twitter famous and casually amassed about 8,000 followers on an account I’ve since deleted. On my personal Twitter, I post more than anyone wants me to.
As I grew older, I started taking publishing more seriously. My friends and I started a blog together as freshmen, and we published 3 times a week every week for months on end. I had the opportunity to serve as the Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Beacon in college, which meant managing our website, posting on social media, and writing for my first large audience.
In 2019, I graduated from UT where I majored in Journalism and Electronic Media and minored in Political Science. In 2018, I worked as a freelance writer for a number of different sites, and in 2019 took a job with RDI Technologies where I worked for nearly two years before joining TenHats in 2021.
